Let’s Talk About Our Half Gold-Plated Quartz Carbon Heating Tubes
If you need a way to control infrared radiation without the usual headaches, we’ve got you covered. We build these 220V tubes specifically for the tough stuff. Instead of your run-of-the-mill quartz lamp, we use a carbon filament tucked inside high-purity quartz. It’s designed to hit that sweet spot of medium-to-long wave emission. Why carbon? Here’s the thing: carbon just behaves better. At 220V, you get a steady flow of heat, but you don’t have to crank the temperature as high as you would with tungsten. The best part? It heats up fast. Really fast. You aren’t standing around waiting for the machine to catch up to your target temp. Plus, because carbon is tougher, the filament doesn’t get brittle and snap after a few hundred heat cycles. It just lasts. The gold plating isn’t for show You’ll notice only half the tube is plated in gold. This isn’t about making it look fancy. It’s about physics. Gold is an incredible reflector. By plating just one side, we basically force the heat to bounce off the coating and shoot straight at your workpiece. Without that gold layer, you’re basically throwing away half your energy. It just leaks out into the air or soaks into your machine’s chassis, which is a waste of power and can overheat your gear. With the plating, the energy goes exactly where you want it. Getting it up and running These are pretty easy to work with. They’ll plug right into most standard 220V industrial controllers. If you’re still running old halogen arrays in your PET blowing or curing lines, these are a great way to upgrade without rebuilding your whole setup. But, a quick heads-up on a couple of things. First, that gold coating is a bit picky. If your shop is full of heavy oil mist or corrosive fumes, the plating will start to wear down. Keep the environment clean if you want to keep that reflection power high. Also, these things get hot. Make sure your mounting brackets have some wiggle room for thermal expansion. If they’re too tight, the quartz might crack, and nobody wants to deal with that.
