Getting Your Industrial Printing to Dry Faster
If you’re running a high-speed printing line, you know the struggle. You need the ink to dry now, but you don’t want to fry your materials in the process. That’s why we built these carbon fiber IR lamps. They run at 230V and 800W, giving you a punch of concentrated heat that hits the ink solvents hard while leaving the substrate alone. The power side of things The 800W rating is the secret sauce here. It means you aren’t sitting around waiting for the machine to warm up; you get heat almost the second you flip the switch. Since they run on 230V, they plug right into most standard industrial grids. You won’t have to deal with those bulky, annoying step-down transformers taking up half your control cabinet. And we went with carbon fiber filaments for a reason. They can handle way more current than the old tungsten stuff. Basically, you get more heat coming out of a smaller space. Built to take a beating We wrap those filaments in high-purity quartz glass. This does something clever with the heat spectrum—it pushes it into the medium-to-long wave range, which lets the heat soak deeper into thick layers of ink. Plus, these aren’t like those flimsy halogen tubes that snap if you look at them wrong. Carbon fiber is tough. It can handle the constant vibration of a printing press without giving up. If you’ve already got an IR array, these usually just slide right in. A few things to keep in mind These are perfect for flash-drying coatings or curing UV inks. Because they react so quickly, you can easily time the heat to match exactly how fast your conveyor is moving. But, a word of warning: 800W is a lot of heat in one spot. Don’t put them too close, or you’ll end up scorching your paper or melting your plastic. I’d highly recommend using a solid PID controller so you don’t burn out the filaments when the line is idle. One last tip: use high-temp leads for the wiring. Trust me, you don’t want your insulation melting near the ends of the lamps.
